3 Tips for Narrowing Down Assisted Living Communities in Phoenix AZ

Selecting an assisted living community in Phoenix, AZ can be overwhelming! Not only can prices give you sticker shock, but there are so many different communities to choose from. How can you possibly narrow them down? It’s important to remember that not all assisted living communities in Phoenix, AZ are the same. Each one likely has different features, amenities, levels of care, location, prices, and more.

It’s an incredibly important decision, so it’s important to do your research before deciding. It can still be tough, especially as you want to make sure you are choosing the right one as it’ll be your home for the rest of your life. To help, here are three tips for narrowing down assisted living communities in Phoenix, AZ.

Pay Attention to the Location

Most assisted living communities do offer everything you need right there on property, so they have more of a neighborhood feel rather than just a building feel. Check out if they have a courtyard, services like hair styling or a library on site, and more.

Additionally, remember to pay attention to the location of the community. Is it near an urban area where you can leave the community and enjoy some shopping or dining? Do they provide transportation to help you safely get there? You also want to make sure that it’s not far from your family. The closer you are to them, the easier it is for them to come and visit you!

See If Financial Aid Options Are Available

It’s no secret that assisted living communities can be expensive. Thankfully, many do offer various financial solutions to help with the costs. We can’t speak for all assisted living communities in Phoenix, AZ, but we here at BridgeWater Assisted Living try to make senior living affordable.

We are proud to offer financial solutions in all of our communities, including our Central Phoenix community. These options include Medicaid and Arizona’s Long-Term Care System (ALTCS), Veterans’ Pension Benefits, and offering income-qualified opportunities.

The price can make a difference in which community you choose, so be sure to look into it and also see if they accept any financial solutions that you qualify for.

Go on a Tour

The best way to know if an assisted living community is right for you is by seeing it yourself. Most communities offer tours or appointments for you to go and visit, so schedule one! Not only will you get to see everything with your own two eyes, but you’ll also get a feel for the community. Sometimes all it takes is to set foot in a community to know if it’s right for you or not.

Additionally, going on a tour will allow you to meet with the staff that could potentially be working with you. You can see if your personalities click and ask them any questions you may have. Plus, on tours, you will also see the residents who live there, who could potentially be your new neighbors. Being able to see and feel things for yourself can better help you make your decision.
