Certified Care Specialist

The role of a certified care specialist is to provide both quality of life and positive experiences for all residents. Daily, staff members in this role assist with residents’ daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, making beds, as well as performing patient care activities.

Activities Assistant or Director

The activities assistant and director are responsible for planning, overseeing, and implementing all of the activities that residents in a community can take place in. For an activities assistant, this includes preparation, setup, cleanup, and facilitation of both individual and community-wide events for residents and their friends and family.

For an activities director, this role develops and administers an activity program that meets the capabilities and interests of the residents. The number one goal and responsibility of an activities director is to make sure the lives of residents are maintained to the fullest extent possible through activities and contact with the community.

Medication Technician

A medication technician does exactly as it sounds—assisting residents with medication administration. That’s not all, though, they also make sure that all documentation, charting, and reporting has been completed correctly and in a timely manner. Additionally, they must demonstrate strong safety and ethical practices and ensure that other care staff members are kept up-to-date on any changes in status they notice in residents.

Assisted Living Administrator

One of the most business-minded roles you can find in long-term care, the assisted living administrator is who determines resident admission and ensures both legal and regulatory compliance. They also do quality control for the health care delivery chosen. Overseeing organization budgets and finance is also part of the job.
