But there’s a bounty of other fun outings here in Peoria, Arizona. Living at the Mission at Agua Fria means having access to all of them. Here are some of our favorite potential outings that you or your family can enjoy in Peoria, Arizona.

#1: Spring Baseball at the Peoria Sports Complex

Did you know that not one but two Major League Baseball teams call Peoria home during the offseason? Peoria’s pleasant, mild winters and springs mean it’s the perfect place to go when winter is chilly and damp—if not frigid and icy.

Both the San Diego Padres and Seattle Mariners hold their spring training in Peoria, and you can watch their public activities at the Peoria Sports Complex on 83rd Avenue. With activities for everyone to enjoy, like Peoria Cove, a shipwreck-themed play space, and all the yummy food and craft beer you’d expect of a big-city ballpark, the Peoria Sports Complex is a great place to spend a spring afternoon with a baseball-loving family.

#2: Maritime Fun at Lake Pleasant

Central Arizona isn’t exactly where one expects to have some on-the-water fun, but at Lake Pleasant, one of the largest artificial reservoirs in the country, it’s more than possible. Lake Pleasant Marina offers boat rentals, the opportunity to take kayaks out on the water, and even just a place to enjoy some waterside sunshine in Peoria, Arizona. Living at the Mission at Agua Fria doesn’t mean living a landlocked life.

Even if you’re not interested in going out on the water, the Lake Pleasant Regional Park is a beautiful oasis in the desert and offers tons of gorgeous sites and nighttime views.

#3: Vibrant Artistic Scene

Perhaps this is cheating a little, but there are too many great arts and culture destinations in Peoria to just pick one. You can catch a show at the Arizona Broadway Theatre or the Peoria Center for the Performing Arts if a live performance is your or your family’s passion. You can visit the West Valley Art Museum to peruse galleries full of top-notch visual work from incredible Arizona artists. And that’s not even getting into the countless statues and art installations found throughout the city. Living here, you’re surrounded by the arts daily.

With so much to do in Peoria, is it a wonder that it’s one of the best places in the country to live? We’re proud of what we do at the Mission at Agua Fria, but it’s made so much easier by the beautiful city around us.
