Affordable Memory Care Does Not Have To Sacrifice Quality

Affordable memory care should not lack quality; that’s one of our goals here at BridgeWater. We want our residents to worry less, live more, and have access to affordable lifestyle options without worrying about lacking quality.

Seniors deserve the very best care, including those in memory care. They deserve quality care, lots of compassion, and a great environment to live and age in. We proudly offer all that and more in our memory care communities at BridgeWater.

Affordable memory care can have high-quality care if you choose the right community. That’s why it’s essential to research and look at what the memory care community costs and everything it will offer at that price. Choosing the proper affordable memory care can be overwhelming, but here are a few tips on what to look for in a quality memory care community:

Financial Solutions

When looking for affordable memory care, the price tag can be one of the most important things to you. Unfortunately, memory care can cost a lot of money, but the good news is that many memory care communities offer financial solutions to help offset the cost.

For instance, our memory care community here at BridgeWater offers income-qualified opportunities, which means that if you make less than $3,095 each month, you qualify for this help. In addition, you can take advantage of other financial solutions available, but first, double-check that the community accepts them. Medicaid is an option, and in Arizona, that comes through Arizona’s Long-Term Care System (ALTCS). If you are a veteran or the surviving spouse of a veteran, you may also be entitled to Veterans Pension Benefits, which can help pay for the cost of memory care.

Accessible Staff

Quality memory care should have trained and compassionate staff accessible to their residents whenever they need them. You never know when something may occur, and having a team that residents can turn to or staff already looking out for the residents, is essential in memory care. In addition, there should be staff on-site at the memory care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The staff is always around no matter what time of day or night. This professional and well-trained staff should be able to assist the residents with whatever they need, such as dressing, grooming, bathing, showering, feeding, transfer assistance, and medication management. Additionally, if there is something that a resident cannot safely do by themselves, there should always be someone around that can do it for them or help them with it.

Latest Technology & Programs

Technology is vital in memory care, and quality memory care will have the latest and greatest. It can make a massive difference in the care that residents receive. We know this at BridgeWater and have implemented a personal emergency call response system for our residents, personalized to each individual and their needs.

Our staff can use this technology to view clinical data on the resident, allowing them to create a personalized care protocol. The personal emergency call response system also enables our staff to notice if there are any changes or anything out of the ordinary. For example, changes in regular routines could indicate an emerging health trend with the resident, and by noticing it right away, a staff member can address it quickly before it becomes any bigger.  This action could stop an issue before it becomes a more significant problem.

In addition to this technology, at BridgeWater, we offer Equilibrium Memory care, a science-based memory care program that utilizes cognitive therapies such as art, mindfulness, music, and more. These therapies not only keep our residents’ spirits, bodies, and minds active but also allows our staff to receive real-time data. This data is then used to adjust the resident’s therapies and activities if needed, helping them stay happy, healthy, and safe.

Amenities

Quality memory care will offer a lot of different amenities for their residents to take advantage of. They know that the person is not just moving into an apartment in a building, they are moving into a new community, and a community should have a ton to offer. This is why looking at all the amenities memory care provides is essential.

A quality community will offer a lot of different amenities and things to do. Here at BridgeWater, we have an on-site wellness and therapy center available for all our residents to use whenever they need it. In addition to this, there is also an activity and media room, community computer stations, and a beauty salon. To encourage residents to get outside and get some fresh air, we have scenic paths and tranquil vistas all within the community.

Delicious food

Food should be healthy and delicious. A quality memory care community will know this and offers a variety of meal options. At BridgeWater, we offer three nutritious and great-tasting meals in our community dining room daily, prepared by trained chefs.

A wide variety of food is available, providing something for everyone. On holidays, there are special meals for residents to enjoy, and a variety of food events, like happy hours, happening regularly. Some of our Bridgewater communities also offer an on-site cafe for residents to enjoy, like our Tucson location (which also provides memory care).

As you can see, affordable memory care does not and should not sacrifice quality! Memory care communities are available that will give you everything you need and will not break the bank; you just need to research.
